John Edward Jones opened his law office in Seminole County more than 35 years ago, and has strong ties throughout the Central Florida community. He obtained an undergraduate degree from Florida State University ('65) and his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law ('68).

He received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, the law directory's highest possible rating. He is also listed in many publications, including Who's Who in American Law. In addition, John is a diplomate of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and a sustaining member of the American Trail Lawyers Association for more than 25 years.

John serves on the board of directors for Calvary Towers and is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association.

John has a broad range of experience from working as a professional football scout for the Kansas City Chiefs to four years' active duty in the Navy during Vietnam and 18 additional years in the Navy Reserves through Desert Storm, during which he obtained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

He is also the author of the book Reconciliation, where he discusses many of his life experiences, as well as his legal practice within the criminal, family and personal injury areas. The book has sold more than 100,000 copies.

He also serves on the board of directors for Calvary Towers, a HUD project for lower income elderly people and people with handicaps. Through his involvement, John became aware of medical problems faced by the elderly. For example, he learned early on of defects with Sulzer hip replacements.

John is particularly astute regarding nursing homes and other difficulties the elderly face; having had to care for an elderly parent who ultimately needed to move from an assisted living facility into a nursing home.

John’s son, Randy, is a city commissioner in Sanford; an his younger son, Andrew, was admitted to the Florida Bar in April 2006 and is currently practicing in Brevard and Seminole County as an Assistant State Attorney.
